For several years we have purchased Fair Trade Coffee from Equal Exchange through the UCC Coffee Project. Recently we were advised of a small increase in the price of coffee, but for now our prices will remain the same.
- Regular Coffee $6.00 per bag
- French Roast Coffee $6.50 per bag
- Decaf Coffee $7.00 per bag
In addition to the Fair Trade price which assures the farmer of a living wage for his products, a small fraction of our price covers the price of the coffee for church events and a small fraction helps the church budget.
An added benefit: For each pound of coffee, tea, or chocolate purchased by UCC congregations, Equal Exchange makes a contribution to the UCC “Small Farmer Fund”. for projects supporting small farmers and their families. In 2006 purchases through the UCC Coffee Project totaled 30 tons of fairly traded products.
It is difficult to keep the coffee on display at all times, but it is available. Just ask! |
